About the Owner

Bon jour! I am Bad Reception but everyone knows me as Reccie! I have been on SDN for many years now, since the site first opened but I am periodically away to pursue other fancies. I am a fifteen year old girl who lives in Charleston, SC and loving it. I have two different colored eyes (one brown, one hazel), mouse brown hair, fine features, and pale skin. People call me pretty, but I don’t see it. My hobbies include: ballet, horseback riding, singing, acting, reading and other such things. My passion is writing, I write stories and poems. I love watching movies and my favorite genre is tragic romance and musicals. I am a huge fan of Broadway and the West End Theatres. I have seen Wicked and Phantom of the Opera in real life. I am a huge Phantom Phan! I know everything that there ever was about Phantom of the Opera. I have read the original book by Gaston Leroux and several other sequels and such including: The Phantom of Manhattan, Phantom, and Madrigal. I have seen the play (which I bawled like a baby during) and have seen the movie with Gerard Butler (who is my preferred Erik). I have also seen the 1925 silent version with Lon Chaney and thought it was brilliant. I am also a Les Misérables fan, but I am new to this fandom and am still learning the ropes. I am reading the book, will see the movie soon, and am going to see the play next summer. I am a huge lover of France and the 1800s, most of my stories are set on that background and I tend to like fictional and historical fictions that are romantic tragedies. I can speak/write a little French and hope to some day learn it fluently! My favorite breed of dog is a Great Dane but I like most big dogs and other animals. Well enough about me. Au revoir!

About the Kennel and Breed

Great Danes are everything anyone could want in a dog: gentle, lively, loyal, caring, lovable, and brave. Bred originally to hunt large game and protect manors these dogs are agile and energetic, evolving into a beautiful and majestic breed over hundreds of years. One of the largest breeds of the dog world Great Danes are known as ‘couch potatoes’ and are perfectly content lounging about for the better part of the day. Contrary to popular belief despite their laid-back spirit Danes need plenty of exercise. They do not live very long lives (about 8-10 years) but with proper care and nutrition can live to be 12-14 years old. The kennels name: Dark Star Kennels (DSK) is random. I am very happy with how the layout turned out. My kennel is very professional. We do not take any ifs, ands, or buts from anyone. If you have any complaints or questions please mail me but I am mostly deposed when it comes to breeding rules and such. My dogs are taken well care of and are showed daily unless pregnant or retired. Dogs retire at age 8y 0m, begin showing at 0y 6m, and start breeding at 3y, 6m.

About Breeding Requirements

If you are interested in one of my studs or bitches please message me, I check my messages daily and am always open to negotiations. My breeding regulations are quite standard. I will not breed my dogs to crossbreeds and I take it upon myself to evaluate your kennel. If I find that your kennel is not how I prefer your breed request will be declined. Of all litters I require a male or female of my choice. The pups can be reviewed when born. It is my goal to breed high genetic dogs so if your dog is under 60 genetics it is unlikely I will accept your request unless there is a trait your dog has that I would like to add to my line. I am concerned about dogs coloring as well as everything else on the dog. I am striving to create a respectable line and kennel so if you are rude it is an automatic no and you will be added to my black list.
